Celebrate autumn, craft beer & running with a half marathon in the mountains of North Carolina. Start and finish at Hi-Wire Brewing’s River Arts District Beer Garden, 284 Lyman St. Asheville.

Experience the true essence of autumn in Asheville, North Carolina — where the Blue Ridge Mountains are ablaze with color, the air carries just enough chill to make you run faster, and craft beer tastes better after a hard-earned finish line.

Welcome to the Oktoberfest Half Marathon & 5K, the perfect collision of fall running and Asheville’s legendary beer culture.

If you were with us in 2024, you know the story — Hurricane Helene brought 30 feet of water crashing across our race course, and the event we’d poured our hearts into was gone in an instant. It was gut-wrenching. But Asheville is resilient, and so is this race. We came back strong in 2025, and now we’re locked in and fired up for October 3rd, 2026.

This year we’re capping registration at 1,000 runners — big enough to have an incredible atmosphere, small enough to feel like the community event it’s always been at heart. Whether you’re chasing a PR on the half marathon or keeping it fun with the 5K, you’ll be running through one of the most beautiful places in America at peak leaf season, with a cold craft beer waiting for you on the other side.

Both Courses are USATF Certified

Brand new course were plotted in 2025 due to the damage done to the River ARts District in 2024. We love our new courses and you will too.
