Half Marathon Information

Course Detail
Half Marathon runners will start and finish at the Hi-Wire Beer Garden in the River Arts District neighborhood of Asheville.

Mile 1 and 2 is running on road along the French Broad River.

At Mile 3 runners move onto the Reedy Creek Greenway which skirts the Montford Neighborhood.

Mile 4 and 5 runners weave through the historic Montford neighborhood.

Mile 6 run along the Wilma Dykeman Greenway in front of the New Belgium Brewery.

The remainder of the race is a tour of Asheville’s beautiful greenways that follow the French Broad River.

The course is majority paved roads with approximately 1/5 mile of dirt path in Carrier Park.
Roads will not be fully closed along the course so runners must keep right and pay attention to course directional arrows, Course Marshal instructions and Police. If you are running with earbuds please leave one ear open. No dogs or strollers allowed on the half marathon course.
Half Marathon course aid closes at 10:30am.

Mile 11 – Water, electrolyte drink, fruit and port-a-john
Mile 11.8 – Water, electrolyte drink and public bathroom
5k Race Information

Course Detail
5k runners will start and finish at the Hi-Wire Brewery.
Super flat run mostly on the RAD Greenway.
Dogs and strollers are allowed, but must start at the back of the group.
Walkers are welcome!

Can’t make our race but want the swag?
No worries, run your half marathon or your 5k on your own terms.
Register for the virtual subevent for the distance you want to run. Race t-shirts, bibs and finisher medal will be mailed the week after the race (between 10/3 and 10/7)
Virtual runners are not eligible for age group or top awards.
