Half Marathon runners will start and finish at the Hi-Wire Beer Garden in the River Arts District neighborhood of Asheville.
- Right turn out of the brewery onto Lyman, toward Riverside.
- The first mile is a loop through the River Arts District.
- Mile 1- 3 is a run along Riverside Drive. Be aware that debris and scars from the flood are very visable on this stretch of road.
- Around mile 4 you’ll hit the Reed Creek Greenway for just under a mile.
- Mile 5 through Mile 8 wind through the historic Montford neighborhood.
- Mile 9 you’ll hit the RAD area again as you next cross the Craven St. Bridge and head to the western side of the French Broad River.
- Mile 10 thru 11 run in an out and back on an out and back on the French Broad River Greenway.
- Mile 12 and 13 runners return back to the River Arts District and onto the RAD greenway before returning to the brewery.
Roads will not be fully closed along the course so runners must keep right and pay attention to course directional arrows, Course Marshal instructions and Police. If you are running with earbuds please leave one ear open or use bone conducting head phones.
No dogs or strollers allowed on the half marathon course.
Half Marathon course aid closes at 10:30am.
We will continue to time runners until they are all in.
3 hour course limit for course aid. Aid stations and marshals leave the course at 10:30am.

Mile 7.5 – Water, Tailwind and JamBars (Manned by Asheville Middle School PTO)
Mile 9 – Water, Tailwind , JamBars and Port-a-John (Manned by the Lady Mustangs Smoky Mountain HS Girls Basketball)
Mile 11.5 – Water, Tailwind , Bananas and Port-a-John (Manned by the Lady Mustangs Smoky Mountain HS Girls Basketball)

5k runners will start and finish at the Hi-Wire Brewery.
Super flat run mostly on the RAD Greenway.
- Right turn out of the brewery onto Lyman, toward Riverside.
- The first mile is a loop through the River Arts District.
- Mile 1.5 – 2 is an out and back on the WAVL RAD Greenway in front of New Belgium Brewing.
- Mile 2-3 runners return back to the River Arts District and onto the RAD greenway before returning to the brewery.
No Dogs are allowed as per our race insurance. Strollers are allowed for the 5k only but must start at the back of the group. Walkers are welcome!
1 Hour time limt for the 5k.

For safety purposes, and in compliance with our race insurance, we do not allow dogs or any other animals to run with participants at our events. Service animals will be allowed with prior approval (more than 5 days ahead of race day send request to info@kickitevents.com) and supporting documentation. Running with your animal will result in disqualification from award categories and timing results.
Run Virtually!
Can’t make our race but want the swag?
No worries, run a half marathon distance or a 5k distance on your own terms.
Register for the virtual subevent for the distance you want to run. Race t-shirts, bibs and finisher medal will be mailed the week after the race (between 10/2 and 10/8)
You do not need to send up your results. Virtual runners are not eligible for age group or top awards.
